Sunair Electronics is seeking an experienced HF/ VHF RF Test Engineer. This individual will be responsible for development and execution of test processes and procedures for RF products.‚Äč He/she will support R&D and manufacturing operations in testing prototype and production products in verification and characterization of performance and adherence to specifications and/or standards.

As a HF/VHF RF Test Engineer you can expect to:
  • Work with engineering and production to support the pre-sale activity, proposal generation, design and validation of the product.
  • Provide input to Director of Engineering and/or product manager to assist with overall customer goals, requirements and ad-hoc technical needs.
  • Evaluate test equipment and processing equipment used in design and production.
  • Provide technical support in performing RF system testing.
  • Review test result data to ensure that actual performance meets expected requirements.
  • Assist in system operations and maintenance activities.
  • Coordinate with management to assess technical challenges and provide action items.
  • Recommend new test techniques and technologies to ensure system performance.
  • Develop test procedures and strategies to carry out system testing
  • Review and recommend improvements to existing test strategies.
  • Design test fixtures and develop and calibrate test equipment.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot RF test equipment in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Work in compliance with company policies and testing guidelines.
 
Required Experience:
  • 10+ years’ industry and /or military experience outside of school.
  • Proficient in test methods and the use of test equipment.
  • Developing test programs using test design and analysis tools (LABVIEW, VB6, HPVEE, etc. )
  • Experience generating test system designs and documentation.
  • Experience developing detailed test equipment lists.
  • Must have experience with communications equipment. (Required)
  • Must have experience with developing tests to meet certification, such as various agencies as well as military standards.
  Miscellaneous Requirements:
  • Proficiency with MS-Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Access).
  • Very strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and work well under pressure.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills in a team environment.
  • GROL (FCC General Radio Operator License) and/or amateur radio license. (Desirable)  
  • Must have or be able to obtain and keep a passport for travel internationally.   
 Educational Requirements:
  • High School graduate or equivalent (required).
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical related field (BSEE preferred.)
